The mournful brothel...

It is fortunate that Xavier-Luc Duval was able to convince those heading the health system that it was essential to reconnect with some part of humanity. Our health service has since long evaded its vocation of care by allowing its managers to subject themselves to the various holders of the ministerial portfolio for Health. Today, Kailesh Jagutpal gives us the most macabre assessment of this ministry: the death toll within the dialysis community of the Souillac hospital is still not over.

The leader of the Opposition's meagre victory is yet important: the favour done to him now allows many families, with the inevitable constraints of the pandemic, to at least bid adieu to their deceased loved ones rather than having them taken out as once people were being removed from the gas chambers... For these grieving people, it is a consolation, and for our society, a return to our part of humanity. A humanity dismissed for allowing Anerood, the rough donkey, wrested by Bérenger at the time, to remove morality from our honour boards on the grounds that it would not fill us up. "Moralité pa ranpli vant", he said.

Endangering the lives of others

We had to reach that threshold where we stop covering our faces. We had to reach this moment when events show that we were not wrong at Indocile to stick to the kind of truth that can be verified and to refuse to chant, unlike our peers in the profession, these mantras of a "Covid-Free" or "Covid-Safe" island. Indocile has repeatedly talked about the many flaws in the health care system. This we demonstrated by the vulnerabilities to which Air Mauritius flight attendants and their families were and still remain exposed. So far, in general indifference!

Indeed, we have denounced the endangerment of the people’s lives, without obtaining much public attention. Because in this country a culture has developed among the press people not to take up the news of their colleagues so that they do not have to quote them. Also, because in this country, the conception of democracy is now limited to the narcissistic cults of political leaders that no critic should dent.

We have to tell these truths to our readers. Even when the exercise consists of breaking myths like so many inflated shams. Much the better if the strikes hurt sometimes, it will be necessary for one and all to recover: the break with the complacent views, those that comfort the weak minds, is better than to endure the bondage imposed on us by the mediocre that this population chooses against all reason.

In Mauritius, we are religious and we even pride ourselves on being multi-religious, as it is possible to divide a population into multiple categories to celebrate the deities, also multiple. Cults are devoted with force ministers and notables, many as pious as the other to solicit the prosperity, to which some access more rapidly by numerous rapines.

Yes, we're religious in Mauritius. To the point of expecting the deities to protect one’s own and let the others die! Until a tiny virus put the biggest scare on anyone who sincerely believed they had made their reservations for paradise. Well, no, in his lifetime, he will have to go through the Hell box. Since it has become one by dint of always choosing the most capable to put up a brothel.

We have faith in Mauritius, that of his religions as that of his superstitions where, by force syncretic rituals, we put the deities in competition to perform miracles. Since these cannot occur without human sacrifice, the fruit of the labour of women and men becomes an offering to the glory of politicians erected as objects of worship. Even the famous "economic miracle" was as much an intellectual scam as a political fiction, because the boorishness that has been raised as an art form cannot attribute some form of credit to these women and men of modest conditions who worked hard to buy back a country whose rulers had submerged in abyssal debts.

Thus, in this country, we live in hope and religious bigotry rather than planning and struggle to implement everything that needs to be corrected. Forgotten the adage that it is in good weather that one repairs the roof, whereas the cyclones had perfectly shaped those ancestors we all claim coming from and thus proves to be very unworthy of. Everyone has gargled so much about the "Covid-free" that upon the second wave of the pandemic, the grasshoppers found themselves very destitute...

The party of the sun, shining only for its relatives and supporters, will have succeeded in the enterprise of eclipsing sound reason. Jugnauth, father and son, have managed to break into the club of leaders capable of obtaining a majority willing to reject the scientific rigors for the facilities of obscurantism. The Jugnauth, in this regard, have nothing to envy the Trump, Bolsonaro, Duerte and Modi. They have media and courtiers to sing their praises to a population that has undergone schooling only to be trained for toil.

In parliament, they were able to install those who distilled infotainment and common places. After Bablee and Mayotte, all they have to do now is board Mamie Clown. Can you hear the boboquerie trumpeting the charge to retaliate to a so-called class contempt? Except that your servant embodies the fact that, even from working-class backgrounds, one may prefer his lean cow than compromise on a dubious angus!

Governments, especially when they lack a real political vision, are more likely to listen to schemers than to rely on useful people. Pravind Jugnauth's problem is that he believes he can rule like a monarch. By interposed mandarins, those individuals in total phase-out with the population. While this population keeps on demonstrating it is well disposed for solidarity citizenship, members of the government and their expensive advisers are distinguished by the calamitous management of their ministries; most of them exercise solidarity in the sphere of their supporters alone, the most crooked getting better. Thus they find themselves mired in the sewer of this political-financial mafia that always leads to the decay of the institutions of the country. And they realize that out there, more and more people are already larding their butt. So, while in the face of the challenges facing the nation, the people once more stand shoulder to shoulder, Pravind Jugnauth and his ministers are clenching their butts!

However, sooner or later, this population will have to find the most likely successor to Pravind Jugnauth. At the point where this country has reached, it would have to find the equivalent of Madame Claude... At least this one knew how to run a brothel!
